What do they have in common?
All of the above require hard work, attention to details and dedication. You're not going to acheive any of these with
cheap "fly-by-night" come-ons or magic potions. Before you invest your hard earned dollars, remember, "the best SEO
is real SEO".
what is seo?
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via natural organic search results. In general, the higher in search results on the page and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine.
Successful SEO depends on your ability to intelligently apply the principles of good structured information design. SEO isn't something you do to search engines; SEO is what you do to your content so that the content is accessible and useful for real users.
SEO is best acheived when designing your website from the beginning. It can also be about making small modifications to parts of your existing website. When viewed individually, these changes might seem like incremental improvements, but when combined with other optimizations, they could have a noticeable impact on your site's user experience and performance in organic SERP (search engine results placement). You should base your optimization decisions first and foremost on what's best for the visitors of your site. They're the main consumers of your content and are using search engines to find your work. Focusing too hard on specific tweaks to gain ranking in the organic results of search engines may not deliver the desired results and even backfire if done wrong.

SEO Web Design Tips
The best SEO is REAL SEO
Start with your story. Your words. Like who you are, what you can do, why choose you, (what makes you different) described in a way a highschooler gets it. Great web design clearly communicates the advantage of doing business with you and that includes relevant keywords. Lots of them.
Unique Page Titles
Every web page needs it's very own descriptive 5 to 7 word title. That's the first thing Google sees. With proper search engine optimization webdesign, you'll also see the web page title as the search result. So if you sell baseballs, put "baseball" in the web page title. It's that easy.
Meta Tags
Like "description" (very important) and to a lessor extent, "keywords". The Description meta tag is the blurb you see in FaceBook and other directory listings, so make it good! Also, there many other "meta" tags in the "head" section of your web page that can help the webmaster achieve his ultimate goal of total Google domination!
"Yes, we do take pride in our accomplishments"HEADLINES!!
Just like a newspaper. Not only does it tell your visitor where he is, what he can do and why he should do it, headlines are delicious pieces of candy Google absolutely LOVES!
Pretty Pictures... what?
Eye Candy. The images that make your visitor go "ooh" and "ahh"! Assuming, of course, that they found you in search results. Google can't read a picture or Flash elements (yet), but search engines can read a description in your "alt", "title" and "name" image attributes ("tags"). The best search engine optimization webdesign is being descriptive and semantic with your keywords (no stuffing). If your image is a text block, then include the key phrases. Think "accessibility".
Don't Forget Anchors and List Items
More Google candy. Thats why XHTML and CSS are the preferred method of coding for search engine optimization (see next).
The Clean Code Advantage
Google loves "clean code"! i.e. "semantic" html and css. DIY web template programs like GoDaddy's "Website Tonight", WordPress and others tend to load up the page with too much excess code that can be speedbumps to Google and can slow down the search bots as they scan your page code for relevant content. Nickswebworks' "Clean Code Advantage" applies search engine optimization webdesign that cleans up or entirely replaces your bloated page code with semantic html and css. That's more "candy" Google loves
The competition is fierce. You need every advantage you can use. Dont scrimp on cheap website code. The few pennies you might save now will cost YOU big bucks later!
... and this is just the tip of the iceberg! There are very many resources on the web like HubSpot, A List Apart, SitePoint, SEO Book, the W3C (World Wide Web consortium) and so much more...

HTML 5 for SEO - CSS vs Flash
Eye Candy - Google Can't Read A Picture (yet)
Attractive and compelling websites that are pleasing to the eye and inspire action, have had to rely on Adobe's proprietary "Flash" to display web data in an entertaining and informative way. The good news is, your viewers "ooh" and "ahh" when they land on your page. That's if they can find it in search! The bad news is, data (content, words etc.) displayed in an image may be readable to a human eye but is unreadable by the searchbots when they index the web. Search Engine Optimization corrects that problem by replacing text displayed as images with semantic html styled with css. The latest version is HTML 5 - it makes your web site much easier to find and therefor ranks higher in search results.
HTML 5 for iPhone/iPad/iPod Because They Dont Do Flash!
Web design standards advance rapidly at a glacial pace. Even though the idea of HTML 5 has been around for years, it is just recently being put into practice. Web developers and web designers who make the most effective websites for their clients, implement industry best practices for the highest quality web design. Today, that means HTML 5, a backward compatible web standard that now includes more semantic display of rich content. And a good thing, too because the very popular iPhone and iPad DO NOT run Flash, but they do display rich content in HTML 5!
SEO Bottom Line
More page views, more click throughs, more business. HTML5 means "more money". Web design with the cleanest code techniques give your on-page SEO strategy the best advantage.

Readability Level
Search engines gauge the approximate level of education necessary to read and understand the web page content. In most cases, the content should be made to be simple so that a majority of the target audience can understand it.
The best seo web design attracts the most qualified prospects!
ppc is temporary - seo is forever!
Content is King!
Tell your Story! The products and services that you provide are being sought after by folks using "keyword" searches to find you. Accurate descriptions and relevant content will result in "keywords" that Google, Yahoo and bing! use to calculate your website's relevance to the search terms, and provide you with the most qualified client or prospect. That is search engine optimization at it's most basic level.
The best SEO is real SEO
Let us help you write your story. More than just "keywords" and (meta) "tags", it's relevant content that will
improve your Search Engine Results Placement (SERP, SRP or "page rank"). Search bots are more sophisticated than
ever so even before you invest in expensive keyword algorithmic voodoo, make sure you have a strong web design
foundation to build on first!

The View From the Top
I have seen way too many small business and professional websites that looked great but didnt have the titles, tags or "content" (words, keywords, etc.) to be found by search engine robots and spiders ("searchbots"). It's 1984 all over again. The searchbots "read" your content, follow your backlinks and employ sophisticated methods that basically decide your page rank! That's why clean code and relevant content are a must for top SRP. So before you subscribe to "link farms" or employ keyword algorithmic voodoo (Adwords, ppc, etc.), your "on page" SEO is a major factor in organic search engine results placement (SERP).
I've even seen folks use "images" (.jpeg or .gif) for text blocks! They're usually filled with critical information (content) that a potential client or customer would want to know, but won't, because the problem is, search engine robots or spiders cant "read" a picture, like your business name on a picture of a sign. The text styled fonts look great in photoshop, but unless converted to text with Semantic HTML and then styled with CSS to look like your psd (photoshop file or other artwork), you're business is virtually invisible to the search engines, and even more so if you're in a crowded competitive field.
"Text embedded in a graphic, like the name of a shop in a photograph, cannot be seen by search engines.
And the old practice of embedding key words in white-on-white type will not increase a site's page ranking;
in fact it will do the opposite."
Why lose anymore potential business? We can turn those gifs and jpegs into Google friendly Semantic HTML + CSS Clean Code Advantage and get you to the top of search results so your business will benefit from the increased page views that other Nicks Web Work's seo web design studio clients enjoy!
